AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT AND ENFORCE

THE WISCONSIN UNIFORM DWELLING CODE

The Town Board of Hiles does hereby ordain as follows:

Section 1: Purpose

The purpose of this ordinance is to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the property owners in the Town of Hiles, Forest County, and to maintain required local uniformity with the administrative and technical requirements of the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code.

Section 2: Scope and Authority

The scope of this ordinance includes the construction and inspection of one and two family dwellings built since June1, 1980. These regulations are adopted under the authority granted by Wis Stats 101.65.

Section 3: Adoption of Ordinance

The Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code of the Wisconsin Administrative Code is hereby adopted and shall apply to new one and two family dwellings within the scope of the ordinance. Uniform Dwelling Code means those Administrative Code Provisions and any future amendments, revisions or modifications thereto, contained in the following chapters of the Wisconsin Administrative Code:

Wis. Adm. Code Chapter Comm 20 - Administration and Enforcement

Wis. Adm. Code Chapter Comm 21 - Construction Standards

Wis. Adm. Code Chapter Comm 22 - Energy Conservation Standards

Wis. Adm. Code Chapter Comm 23 - HVAC

Wis. Adm. Code Chapter Comm 24 - Electrical Standards

Wis. Adm. Code Chapter Comm 25 - Plumbing and Potable Water Standards

Section 4: Building Inspector

There is hereby created the position of Building Inspector of the Town of Hiles who shall administer and enforce this ordinance beginning January 1, 2005 and shall be certified by the Division of Safety and Buildings as specified by Wis Stats 101.66(2) in the category of Uniform Dwelling Code Construction inspector. Additionally this or other assistant inspectors shall possess the certification categories of UDC HVAC, UDC Electrical, and UDC Plumbing.

Section 5: Building Permit Fee

Building permit fees shall be determined by contract between the Town of Hiles and the Building Inspector.

Section 6: Effective Date

This ordinance shall be effective upon passage.
