Town Ordinance No. 1002 Town of Hiles An ordinance to regulate vehicle size, weight, and load restrictions on
Town Roads WHEREAS it is deemed expedient and necessary by the Town Board of the
Town of Hiles to regulate vehicle size, eight, and loads on town roads;
and WHEREAS the Town is authorized by Chapter 349 to adopt Chapter 348 of
the Wisconsin Statutes which regulates vehicle size, weight, and load
restrictions on highways and town roads where adopted by towns; NOW, THEREFORE the Town Board of the Town of Hiles does ordain as
follows: 1) Pursuant to the authority granted in Section 349.00 of the Wisconsin
Statutes, the Town Board of the Town of Hiles does hereby adopt Chapter
348 of the Wisconsin Statutes which deals with vehicle size, weight, and
load restrictions to be applied on all town roads in the Town of Hiles. 2) That all town roads so posted pursuant to adoption of Chapter 348 of
the Wisconsin Statutes shall have appropriate signs posted at their
entrances and exits to indicate the road weight limitations and said
limitations shall appear in pounds or tons on each sign to give reasonable
notice to anyone entering the town as to the specific weight limitations. 3) That the Forest County Sheriff's office shall have the authority to
enforce this ordinance and by means of this resolution and ordinance, the
Town Board of the Town of Hiles is granting said authority to the Forest
County Sheriff's office for enforcement purposes. 4) That the Town Board of the Town of Hiles by adopting Chapter 348 of
the Wisconsin Statues also adopts the penalties contained within that
chapter for violations of this ordinance with said penalties to be set by
the Circuit Court of Forest County. 5) That this ordinance is binding on all individuals traveling in and
through the Town of Hiles in any manner or any vehicle. 6) That if any part of this ordinance is deemed unconstitutional, that

Amendment 1 to Ordinance No. 1002 (An Ordinance Amendment to Regulate Vehicle Weight
Restrictions in the Town of Hiles) Ordained by the Town of Hiles Board of Supervisors, in session this 12th
day of February, 1991, that the following vehicle weight restrictions be
